Hand Sanitizer Bottle

My son starts the second grade tomorrow and we're so excited.  We met his teacher tonight and she seems great.  She is full of energy as is my son, so I think they'll work out fine together:-)  She said she really likes ladybug and told us to expect to see them on all the handouts, so I figured I'd help her decorate a little and will send in this hand sanitizer bottle for her classroom.   TFL:-)

Splish Splash

This is my son in his G-ma and G-pa's sink.  I love this picture!  The waves are an SVG I downloaded and cut on the cricut.  I cut the back ones in Shadow mode and the front ones in regular.  The ducks and bubbles are from ACY cart (still love that cart).  The paper is Jun-a-low, Bung-a-low Baby from the Paper Studio.  TFL!

Diaper Wreath

Here's to hoping my sister-in-law does not check out my blog:-)  I finally got her box in the mail today, 3 weeks past her baby shower.  It's due to get to her by Thursday, only 1 week before little Camryn is due.  This is a diaper wreath I made for her.  It's the first one I've done and I really enjoyed making it.  I looked up instructions on a couple of websites and it was very easy.  Since I used a wood like wreath base, I wrapped the base in diapers and then attached the outer ones.  I did not keep count of how many I put on the wreath.  I know I ended up needing a box about double the size I thought I would.  I don't judge size too well.  I hope she likes it!

New doggie

My mom is adopting a dog who has lived his life in a puppy mill.  He was rescued by a local rescue group and put up for adoption.  Tomorrow mom and I will drive down to pick up her new little bundle of joy.  She is very excited, as am I and of course Caleb.  I whipped up this little treat jar to welcome Toby to his new home.

New Niece LO and card

My wonderful SIL in CA is expecting her third little girl.  I have one little boy and love to make little girl stuff, so I had a blast making this Layout and onesie card.  I got the SVG for the onsie card from the craft edge forum.  The lacey topper is made using the Martha Stewart boarder punch.  TFL:-)

I am reposting this from OurTwoAngelsinHeaven's blog.  Pass the word if you can and please send a card if you can!

(From Lisa's Blog)
I am reposting this as I saw it on Pixie Dust Studio's website. It is a wonderful campaign to join. For a child so young to be fighting a battle this harsh is just heartbreaking. We can help put a smile on this little boys face by sending him cards daily. My next challenge cards will be made for Sam. I hope and ask that you will repost this on your blog. If not, please simply put a card in the mail to this young boy. Read below the story as it was posted on Pixie Dust Studio's blog.

Send them to Sam is a card campaign.

I am challenging all you talented ladies to help little Sam fight Cancer. Sam is a wonderful and strong 5 year old boy. His battle with Cancer is just beginning. He was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lymphoma this week. He has a very tough fight ahead of him. I would love everyone to join me in helping Sam fight this and WIN! Sam will be in the hospital for many months. I am starting a campaign to fill his days with tons of cards from all over the globe. What fun for Sam to know that people from all sides of the Earth are supporting and thinking about him. I am going to give him a map book and a ton of stickers. He will put a sticker on each location that his cards come from. How awesome would it be to cover the whole Earth with stickers from people supporting Super Sam. This will be a great adventure for Sam to watch the LOVE and SUPPORT from every corner of the globe. Lets each set a personal goal of one card a month, one card a week, or one card a day.

Keep them coming so he never stops looking forward to the next card delivery.

Ladies with a humble heart, I ask for your support in this Send Them to Super Sam campaign. I will provide updates from time to time to let you all know how Super Sam is winning his battle over Cancer. When he is victorious over Cancer we can all celebrate together in honor of the wonderful and brave Super Sam! I welcome anyone and everyone to join Pixie Dust Studio in the Send Them to Sam Card Campaign! Please take this blog blinkie and post it and link it back to the Pixie Dust Studio Super Sam link. Help pass this Campaign message along..lets spread the word, lets share the news. Cards are needed to help a little boy and his battle with Cancer!

Please send Cards and well wishes to....

ATTENTION: Samual Humphries

It would also be great fun to include the Super Sam image on the inside, back or envelope or mention SUPER SAM ...that way Sam will know that he is a Superhero and he can win this fight!

$1 water bottles

I have to say, I am a HUGE fan of the $1 Tree.  My mom and I found these little water bottles back during Easter and picked up a few.  Well, we went back last week and picked up several more.  I decorated these for my niece and nephew in NV.  I picked up enough to do one bottle for the rest of my nieces and nephews.  They are such cute little gifts.  I decorated them using the Don Juan Cartridge and sign vinyl.  The one I made for my son a couple of months ago has been in the dishwasher (top shelf) several times and the vinyl stays on!

Where have I been?

Wow!  Long time no post.  I haven't been crafting, that's for sure.  Wish I could, but it's been so beautiful outside I just had to get out there and work.  I planted a garden, which is coming along nicely.

As you can see that's been lots of fun and lots of work.  It seems to be doing very well now.  The strawberries have taken off.
I've also been sticking to my challenge to lose 20 pounds.  I've only lost 4 so far; however, that's not for a lack of trying.  I'm up to running 2.7 miles :-) and I've started lifting weights with my hubby.  It's great because it's like having my own personal trainer.  He knows so much about training and diet.  He's great!  Although I've only lost four pounds, the jeans are fitting better and I feel fantastic compared to how I used to feel.  Of course, I've also been on a mega weekly dose of Vitamin D.  Last Thursday was my last dose, so let's pray my body starts to process it on its own.  My doctor will not run any tests until June.  I understand that she wants to be absolutely sure that it wasn't some diet issue or just the winter months that caused it, but it's very frusterating and scarey thinking that I could go back to being so darn tired all the time.  So that's my little update.  Oh, I have made a couple of crafts, but they're surprises for some family who may be reading this blog, so I can't post them.  I'll take pictures and post after I give them to them:-)  Have a wonderful and blessed week!

Easter Sign

This has been my project this weekend.  I felt the need to retreat to the scrap room as much as possible this weekend.  The hubby is wonderful about allowing me the time.  The Eggs are from the Cricut Cartridge A Child's Year.  I love that cartridge.  I embossed a few of the eggs using my sizzix system with cuttlebug embossing folders.  I blinged them with some stickles and embelished away.  I still need to weave in some raffia to hang them.  I plan to hang them from the fireplace.  I'll post a picture when they're complete.
TFL!

Couch to 5K

So today I started the couch to 5K program.  It's a 9 week program to get us couch potatoes up and and healthy.  I don't think I consider myself a couch potato as much as a craft potato.  I really just don't move much when I'm crafting: just from the computer to the Cricut to the Zutter back to the computer:-)  Anywho, the goal is to be able to run a 5K at the end of 9 weeks in under 30 minutes.  It sound like a lot to us non athletic people, but when I was in the Army at my max I was running a 6 minute mile and running 4 miles a couple times a week.  Then I had a baby, and some health issues, and got out of the Army after my deployment, and got lazy.  I know I can get back there, but man tonight was hard.  You start by walking 5 minutes, then you run for 60 second and walk for 90 seconds and continue this for 20 minutes.  It took me the entire 30 minutes to do 2 miles.  I took my dog Jessie with me because I decided she needed to quit being a couch potato too.  After mile one she was wondering why we weren't heading back to the house.  At mile 1.5 I was dragging her with me.  Yep, she's as out of shape as me.  Now I feel like a bad dog owner too.  Well, this is a three times a week workout, so I'll be back at it on Tuesday night, weather permitting.  Wish me luck!

Pink Soccer Album

I made this soccer album out of recycled cereal boxes.  Never hurts to go green.  It seems like I can't throw anything away now.  I have the "I can do something with that," attitude.  TFL!

Pound for Pound

I am a huge fan of the Biggest Loser.  Well, today I signed up for the pound for pound challenge.  I've pledged 20 pounds of weight loss.  Wow!  I can use all the support I can get so I'll try to keep this blog updated with my (hopeful) success on this:-)  I'll also keep adding crafts.  I've made several, but haven't gotten around to taking any pictures.  I do encourage anyone who is able to check out the pound for pound challenge and participate if you are able.  Even if you do not need to lose weight there are several other ways to particpate.  Every little bit helps feed those in need!  Thanks for your support!

Birthday Card

I made this card for my son's friend's birthday.  I used the A Child's Year cart.  I love this image and was excited to get the chance to make a card for a little girl:-)

Love at First Sight LO

So, as I stated in a previous post, Caleb, my son, is now 6 and I am just now really starting to scrapbook. Well, I decided to start at the beginning. This is from the day he was born. I'm kind of glad I waited because going through all the pictures has been great. Caleb has really enjoyed looking through them too.

For the Layout I used Edwardian Font on SCAL. The hearts are from freesvgs.blogspot. Check out her blinkie on the side of my blog under my followers. If you've never visted her blog you must, especially if you are a SCAL user. She has great SVGs.

TFL!!!

Pop Top Cans

I love making these, but did not have a good picture to post. This is still not a good picture because it was before I took the goo gone to the crafting mat. This was a Christmas gift for my neice. It is made from a pineapple can. I took a safety can opener (I used Pampered Chef, but they are available at Wal-Mart) and cut the bottom of the can off. I decorated the can, filled with a little money and lots of candy, which I'm sure mom was happy about, and glued the bottom back on using Mod Podge. I really liked how it turned out and I'm excited to make more.

Kindergarten Tag

I made this tag for my son's Kindergarten picture. I haven't done many 12x12 layouts yet, so hopefully if I start here I can grow bigger and bigger:-) The tag is about 4" long. It's cut on the cricut and is from A Child's Year cart.

Grocery Budget Planner How to video

I had several requests on instruction for making this grocery budget planner, so I made a video. Keep in mind this is my first video and I had to break it into two because of the size. I did't know there was a limit on YouTube:-) Both videos are about 6.5 minutes in length. Here are the links:

Here's is the link to download the files for the Grocery List and Meal Planner List:

So....I haven't posted in a little over two months. Ooops. I get so busy around the holidays. It's funny, I feel like I run and run and run and I still get nothing acomplished. Well, I finally cleaned up the craft space yesterday with the help of dear mom (thanks, mom!) and stayed up until 12:30 a.m. creating. I would have probably stayed up later except I knew I had to get up early. Well, here's what I made. This is a budget grocery planner. It's made using a standard manila folder and designer paper (Laundry Line). The paper is so cute. I was actually able to use a lot scrap paper though, which was really nice, waste not/want not. I got the idea from a YouTube video posted by Kylie from Kylie's Cards and Things blog http://kyliescardsandthings.blogspot.com/. I created the Grocery List and Meal Planner in MS word and then stamped them. There is an envelope for receipts and one for coupons. Enjoy!
