Valentine Chalk Paint Cup

We've been busy attempting to get set up in our new home.  We love the home, but not the unpacking.  I'm finally getting around to getting my craft area situated.  I'm blessed to get an entire room to use as both my office and craft room, and it's much larger than the other room I had.  It's a work in progress and I will post pictures when we near completion.

I took some time today to make a little Valentine gift for Caleb's teacher.  I have several of these plain white cups from a set of dishes.  I have so many cups that I decided when we moved I would purge these and get rid of them.  I later rescued them from the donate/yardsale box when I saw this post over at the idea room:

It really was super simple.  I used my Cricut and Don Juan cartridge to make the stencil with some extra vinyl I had.  I mixed up the paint, which was very simple.  The recipe also from the Idea Room can be found here:

As you can see it calls for 2 tbls of non sanded grout to one cup of paint.  Well, I was only doing one cup (the husband didn't want to take them to work)  :)  So I mixed a little grout and paint until I felt I had the right consistency.  Mine is a little rough, but it works.  I also baked for 1 hour to allow it to set and this is what I came up with:

And this is what it looks like filled with some Valentine M&M's and a little hand sanitizer:

It was a very simple project which I look forward to trying again soon.

Happy Valentine's Day!!
