Valentine Chalk Paint Cup

We've been busy attempting to get set up in our new home.  We love the home, but not the unpacking.  I'm finally getting around to getting my craft area situated.  I'm blessed to get an entire room to use as both my office and craft room, and it's much larger than the other room I had.  It's a work in progress and I will post pictures when we near completion.

I took some time today to make a little Valentine gift for Caleb's teacher.  I have several of these plain white cups from a set of dishes.  I have so many cups that I decided when we moved I would purge these and get rid of them.  I later rescued them from the donate/yardsale box when I saw this post over at the idea room:

It really was super simple.  I used my Cricut and Don Juan cartridge to make the stencil with some extra vinyl I had.  I mixed up the paint, which was very simple.  The recipe also from the Idea Room can be found here:

As you can see it calls for 2 tbls of non sanded grout to one cup of paint.  Well, I was only doing one cup (the husband didn't want to take them to work)  :)  So I mixed a little grout and paint until I felt I had the right consistency.  Mine is a little rough, but it works.  I also baked for 1 hour to allow it to set and this is what I came up with:

And this is what it looks like filled with some Valentine M&M's and a little hand sanitizer:

It was a very simple project which I look forward to trying again soon.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Halloween Layout

This was a layout I did for a scrapbook I made for my husband's parents.  They were visiting us from California over Halloween.  We had a pumpkin carving party with our awesome neighbors...who have since moved to California:(  This was also the first time I ever carved a pumpkin!

Halloween Craft

I'm working on a craft this year for my son's class and I realized I never shared what we did last year.

I got this tutorial from Kerry's Paper Crafts.  Kerry is awesome!  I'm sure if you're reading my blog you've been to hers, but if not, you can find a link to it on the left side of my blog.  The kids loved them and they were super easy.  The stamps are from the $1 bin at Michaels.

Also, I've posted these before, but here they are again....

These were made by using old CD's.  I glued paper to them, drilled holes, embellished and had a very cute Halloween decoration.  They make great gifts and are very quick to make.

Thanks for looking!!

Heart Cards

These two cards were made for RAKs.  The heart cards were cut using the a Child's Year cartridge, the smaller hearts on the background are from Wild Card.  The Butterflies are from Prima Flowers and are beautiful!  I've looked them over and over to try and figure out how to make them myself, but don't think I'll get it:)  Somethings are just meant to be purchased!  I really wanted to ensure everything stayed on, so I attached it all with Mod Podge.  These will be shipping through the mail so I didn't want them falling apart before they reach their final destination!

Sorry for the quality of the pictures.  They were taken with my iPhone because I've misplaced my card reader and cord for my camera.

I know I haven't posted in a quite a while; however, I do have some scrapbook pages I am very excited to share...if I can get them off my camera:)  Thanks for stopping by!

Hand Sanitizer Bottle

My son starts the second grade tomorrow and we're so excited.  We met his teacher tonight and she seems great.  She is full of energy as is my son, so I think they'll work out fine together:-)  She said she really likes ladybug and told us to expect to see them on all the handouts, so I figured I'd help her decorate a little and will send in this hand sanitizer bottle for her classroom.   TFL:-)

Splish Splash

This is my son in his G-ma and G-pa's sink.  I love this picture!  The waves are an SVG I downloaded and cut on the cricut.  I cut the back ones in Shadow mode and the front ones in regular.  The ducks and bubbles are from ACY cart (still love that cart).  The paper is Jun-a-low, Bung-a-low Baby from the Paper Studio.  TFL!

Diaper Wreath

Here's to hoping my sister-in-law does not check out my blog:-)  I finally got her box in the mail today, 3 weeks past her baby shower.  It's due to get to her by Thursday, only 1 week before little Camryn is due.  This is a diaper wreath I made for her.  It's the first one I've done and I really enjoyed making it.  I looked up instructions on a couple of websites and it was very easy.  Since I used a wood like wreath base, I wrapped the base in diapers and then attached the outer ones.  I did not keep count of how many I put on the wreath.  I know I ended up needing a box about double the size I thought I would.  I don't judge size too well.  I hope she likes it!
